College Of Magic Expansion To Include Secret Garden As A Tribute To Siegfried & Roy

Plans for the Cape Town (South Africa) based College of Magic expansion have been finalized and construction will begin later this year. Included in the plans is expansion of the current Secret Garden, the college's tribute to its "Godfathers" Siegfried & Roy. Inspired by Siegfried & Roy's Secret Garden at the Mirage, the expanded garden will feature mystical illusions as well as becoming a sanctuary for the college's feathered friends and rabbits. The SARMOTI "Tree of the Future" will continue to mark the entrance to this mystical garden. Other special landmarks found in Las Vegas will also be added.

A multi-purpose area and attraction will be added to the college's Magical Arts Center. The center will provide direct access into the Secret Garden as well as a new area to be called the Imagination Centre. This area will be designed as a much-needed social area for students and visitors and will house a number of hands-on magical displays.

College officials also announced plans for "Project: Las Vegas." Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the world. Home to the Magicians of the Century and a backdrop for a place of fantasy - it is imagination come to life.

And for a small team of College of Magic students, it represents the inspiration to strive for greater things; the opportunity of turning life-long dreams into a reality.

For these students are hoping to hold high the South African flag at the Siegfried & Roy-sponsored World Magic Seminar in Las Vegas in January. Unable to rely on the college's limited finances, the student's entrepreneurial flair has come to the forefront with everything from holiday shows to magic raffles. Along with the fundraising, have come numerous auditions, late night workshop and countless tutorials.

The World Magic Seminar — started by Siegfried & Roy 26 years ago - is a premiere event on the magical calendar and demands nothing but the best. With the college team's continued determination, a whole lot of work and their desire to reach for the stars (they learned this from Siegfried & Roy), these students will hopefully discover that in magic, nothing is impossible.
