Siegfried & Roy Surprise Darren Romeo With Visit To Florida To View His Sold-Out, Standing-Room-Only Show At Busch Gardens
Showing their continued support of protégé Darren Romeo, Siegfried & Roy recently spent their off days in Florida to surprise Romeo. The Magicians of the Century attended two of Romeo's nightly shows at Busch Gardens in Tampa.
The evening was magical at the Stanleyville Amphitheater not only for Romeo but for the SRO audience. Seeing the performances, Siegfried & Roy witnessed for themselves all the audience emotion evoked by Romeo's blend of magic and music that has set attendance records at Busch Gardens.
"I can't believe it! They finished their show in Las Vegas and hopped a plane to catch my show in Tampa. They are unbelievable," a surprised Romeo said.
At the conclusion of both performances at Busch Gardens, Siegfried & Roy joined Romeo on stage and together the three waved and bowed to the packed house of clapping, screaming and cheering fans.
"They wanted me to try the Florida area to create a different fan base from Las Vegas," Romeo explains. "Now, with the incredible response from my new fans at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, a major 'Siegfried & Roy Presents' show could be a reality in Florida."
Of Romeo's inimitable style, Siegfried commented, "What the animals are to Siegfried & Roy, the voice is to Darren. The show is a roller coaster of powerful magic, breathtaking music and on-the-mark impressions...all emanating from the persona of an entertainer unlike any other who has performed in Las Vegas."
"We've been reading and hearing such great things about Darren, we had to see and hear it for ourselves," added Roy. "He's found a comfort level that the audience feels and he, in turn, gets that magical response from the audience. What Darren doesn't know is that other Florida venues are interested in him. He has increased the gate in Busch Gardens and they want the same done for them."
