Siegfried & Roy to Sponsor 14th Annual K-9 Trials at Orleans Arena
Teams to compete in benefit for Friends for Las Vegas Police K-9’s
LAS VEGAS – Siegfried & Roy’s ongoing efforts to support and recognize the vital role of police K-9 units continues with their sponsorship of the 14th Annual K-9 Trials October 16 and 17, 2004, at the Orleans Arena.
The two-day event, which draws more than 40 K-9 teams from around the country, is the largest fundraiser of the year for the Friends for Las Vegas Police K-9’s. The teams compete in a series of maneuvers that demonstrates the fierce bond between the officers and their dogs and is free to the public.
Friends for Las Vegas Police K-9’s provides assistance to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Canine Heroes, who put their lives on the line everyday to keep Las Vegas safe. There is very limited funding available to the K-9 officers and their four-legged partners during their active duty and none after their police work is over, as officers absorb the entire cost of their dog’s care.
“The K-9 teams often put their lives on the line in an effort to protect Las Vegas,” said Siegfried & Roy. “The bond that is shown between the dogs and the police officers is remarkable, and we are honored to once again be involved with the trials. We encourage everyone to support the foundation.”
